Roasted Cabbage Wedges
Over the weekend, my mother made a vegetarian side dish but I wasn't in town to devour it. When I heard it received a stamp of approval from three meat eaters, I requested the recipe.
Roasted Cabbage Wedges
1 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce (I looked all over Whole Foods for this and settled for Bragg's Liquid Aminos)
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
bacon crumbles (obviously optional)
quarter a head of cabbage (umm, math is obviously not my strong suit), whisk together all the other ingredients in a bowl, individually wrap each cabbage wedge in foil, evenly pour sauce, and seal tight.
bake on 425 for 20 - 30 minutes (or until tender)
while you wait, check out the bottle of aminos you just bought and will probably only use once or twice a year.
my thoughts: simple recipe, cheap meatless meal, and delicious
forrest's thoughts: should have eaten a bigger lunch, would have been better with bacon
so there you have it, try at your own risk
Don't feel bad. I purchased a bottle of Bragg's Liquid Aminos at Village Market last summer and have yet to take the plastic wrapping off. Have you been to Village Market yet? It's the Seventh Day Adventist market in Collegedale. All veg, all the time.
ReplyDeleteMaking this! Would be relish with some red pepper flakes sprinkled over it! I like a little heat! I'll serve Nen's with Pork sliders and mine as pictured! Ha!
