This really happened & Zaki's

     Some people may call it crazy (Forrest) but I call it family fun with a pinch of boredom.  I found out that you could take your pets to the mall and have their photo taken with Santa so I talked Forrest into driving us there tonight.  He was far farrrrrrrr from thrilled with my idea but he's the best of the best and drove my crazy self there anyway - such a good sport, that guy :)  We arrived at the mall and then this happened (and it totally made my night)....

 "What in the jingle bells am I doing in this old guy's lap?  Woofie"  

     And then we snapped a few free pictures.....

 "Someone adopt me immediately - this lady has lost her mind! Woofie please!!"

We are ready for the holidays now!

     In other news, I have been complaining to Forrest for two years because Dothan doesn't have a Mediterranean restaurant and I used to live at the Purple Onion in Birmingham.  After we left the mall, the husband piped up and told me Dothan has a new restaurant.  And (I'm sure you can see where this is going) it's a Mediterranean grill and it's absolutely delicious!!!!!  Zaki's opened up four days ago - basically in the parking lot of the mall close to Pier 1 Imports...and I'm beggggggging you all to go eat there and keep this restaurant in business!  It's officially my new favorite (and Forrest loves it too)!

The service was quick and the food was fresh - eat there!

This veggie head needs more options around this town - try it out and tell your friends.

Vegetarian appetizer - hummus, pita, falafels, grape leaves, and baba ghanoush.

I want to eat this everyday.

Garlic, lemon juice, and rice wrapped up in a grape leaf - I have missed you so!!!!!

I also ordered a salad (and took off the maters).  Personally, I loved the dressing but it was super lemony so there you go - if you hate lemons, don't use it.

 Forrest ordered the lamb gyro and inhaled it.

     I've already told Forrest we have to go there again tomorrow night...minus the Santa visit beforehand.
